Barbados a Buyers’ Market! But not for long!!

You don’t need to be a Barbadian to buy in Barbados. This is the time to own a property in Barbados, the Gem of the Caribbean!

Barbados has always been the choice destination for holiday homes primarily for the British, Europeans, Americans and Canadians.

Barbados is well known for having a small island vibe without compromising on stability and security.  With its beautiful beaches and idyllic weather, a distinctly British culture with strong Caribbean flavor, world class attractions, amenities and solid infrastructure coupled with natural beauty and rich indigenous heritage, Barbados’s unique history, geography and the expected growth in the economy have uniquely positioned it as “the gem of the Caribbean” or what many visitors refer to as “the best of both worlds”.

Barbados, like many other world economies, has been through a rough economic period which caused real estate prices to go down over the last few years. Barbados is now on a growth trajectory to a much brighter future and revitalized economic activity is expected over the next two to three years. The reason for this, is the recent election of the Barbados Labour Party with its far-sighted leader – The Hon. Mia Amor Mottley – Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Barbados. The Prime Minister has a vision for Barbados that has the island buzzing with excitement and high expectations for our beloved island Barbados.  Immediately, on the results of her election, the confidence in the island’s prospects began to return, both internationally and locally.

Barbados has a wide selection of properties of all price ranges to suit everyone’s needs. Now is the time to buy, whether you are local or an international investor.

There is also a great opportunity for High Net Worth Individuals with the Special Entry and Reside Permit (SERP) which attracts HNWIs to the Barbados luxury lifestyle on a more permanent basis while affording them access to an environment of rational taxation. Unlike many of the Eastern Caribbean countries, Barbados does not sell citizenship and thus provides this as an alternative. There are two SERP categories both with an investment in Barbados of at least US2 million from funds sourced outside Barbados. The intention of the SERP is to provide across the board appeal, in terms of attracting retirees, professionals and those simply desiring the Barbados lifestyle.

There is a wide selection of Luxury Property available on the island as well as opportunities for project development. Barbados is also an International business and financial services centre with an extensive network of bi-lateral investment and tax treaties, low tax rates, and a developed infrastructure.

I have recently written a book –“Investing in Paradise – The Definitive Guide to Investing in Real Estate in Barbados”.  Available at several locations across the island and online at Amazon - or Amazon UK http://www.investinginbarbados.com/
